Ans:- In the short story "Karma" by Khushwant Singh, the barrister Sir Mohan Lal was sitting in the first class waiting room at the railway station. There was an old worn out Indian mirror that reminded him of his dirty, poor, indignifed, inefficient countrymen. He is a vizier, a barrister. He has a degree from the Oxford University. He was wondering if he would travel all along in the compartment. He wished an English co-passenger with him, because it was a cantonment. According to him, the mirror was alike everything else in this country. The he thought that the old mirror perhaps smiled back to him and called him an old chap.

     Sir Mohan Lal was very fond of impressive conversation with the English soldiers. He is enriched with the memory of his five years in England. It is considered as the glorious part of his life. When Sir Mohan Lal was waiting in the first class waiting room, these thoughts were appeared in his mind.
